un-new-ize mboxes in mailboxes list

Hello list,

I have just installed a more recent mutt-ng snapshot, hoping that aside of
numerous improvements, I would get rid of a problem I've been having with a
snapshot from march 05 (and which still couldn't prevent me from switching
from mutt to mutt-ng -- great thing you have here):

The list of mailboxes (<change mailboxes><toggle mailboxes> resp. c<tab>)
does display when a mbox hs new mail waiting for me, but it doesn't reflect
when that mail has been dealt with, i.e. I go to that mailbox, read the mail,
make sure that there's no other unread mail there ... but the folder/mailbox
remains marked with a 'N' in that list.

In the sidebar listing of mailboxes, this problem is not present, nor (do I
think) in the status line (xy mails unread, yz folders to go).

Is there some configuration or even compilation flag I should examine?
