Invalid home directory permissions - world writable: msg#00016mail.maildrop
Hi, I use Debian Woody with stock Postfix (1.1.11-0.woody3) and Maildrop (1.3.7-2) and I have problems to deliver any mail. The log shows me this error for each mail: Jan 11 18:43:30 tinkerbell postfix/local[20791]: DEAEA35953: to=<root@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>, relay=local, delay=9686, status=deferred (temporary failure. Command output: /root maildrop: Invalid home directory permissions - world writable. ) This is called from Postfix using mailbox_command = maildrop Now of course I checked all permissions of any home directory I could think of (namely root's and the one of the user the mail is aliased to), but they are not world writable. What is Maildrop crying about? What am I missing? What can I do to isolate the error? tia, Thorsten -- The goal is to keep the bewildered herd bewildered. It's unnecessary for them to trouble themselves with what's happening in the world. In fact, it's undesirable - if they see too much of reality they may set themselves to change it. - Noam Chomsky
