Whether or not user-defined flags (what the IMAP spec calls keywords) are supported is up to the IMAP implementation and may in fact vary from one mailbox or folder to the next. The PERMANENTFLAGS response to SELECT tells you what is or isn't supported. AFAIK our server always returns something like: * OK [PERMANENTFLAGS (\Answered \Flagged \Draft \Deleted \Seen NonJunk \*)] for non-shared folders. The \* means new keywords can be created at will. > Its the syntax that I'm mostly interested in verifying. Keywords are any flag that doesn't begin with \. A common one you see pretty regularly is $MDNRequired (I seem to recall that there was an internet-draft defining this one but i don't recall whether or not it ever became an RFC). Ned |
