I think that if you did an ldapsearch on the directory you're using  
for your Messaging Server directory, searching for  
dn="cn=CommServers,o=comms-config" you would get back an object which  
has a a sunkeyvalue attribute with value "schematype=foo" where foo  
is one of 1, 1.5,  or 2

This seems to be what the current configuration program keys off.
