Building against a CVS backed up to August 15, purify now works:

orion:lisp > ./lisp -core ./lisp.core
CMU Common Lisp 18e+ 15-Aug-2003, running on orion.csl.sri.com
With core: /a/snapdragon/export/u1/homes/gilham/cmucl-linux/linux/lisp/lisp.core
Dumped on: Fri, 2003-08-29 10:09:23-07:00 on orion.csl.sri.com
