I dunno; the patch fixes it, so it looks like that was at least one tack on
the problem.

for the compiling:
CMU Common Lisp CVS release-18e-branch + minimal debian patches,
With core: /usr/lib/cmucl/lisp-dist.core
Dumped on: Thu, 2003-07-31 16:01:11-07:00 on frost

for the sources: HEAD, fetched from cons.org anonymous CVS
