Re: LISP Friendly ISPs?: msg#00004

Subject: Re: LISP Friendly ISPs?
Actually, I run an ISP that would certainly be open to that, though it's been a while since I actually _ran_ cl-hhtp myself. Our only real rule about what software users can run is that they have to provide us with the source code. ;-)

(Most of the smaller ISPs who still provide shell accounts would actually be open to this, but there are fewer of us out here every year.)

We run OpenBSD, though, not Linux and we don't let users run root-level software.

When did cl-http develop a need for root privs? I certainly didn't run it as root when I was still actively fiddling with it?

Just a word of advice, if you are expecting
hosting to include these items you are probably
wasting your time. AAMOF, I don't think you
could find such a vendor period.

On the other hand, I or someone else who has
already got a functioning CL-HTTP installation
might give you a shared account either for
nothing to support shared project involvement
or for a fee.

BTW, running CL-HTTP implies root privilege
for a server so that implies dedicated hosting
which I cannot offer.

Hello,

Can anyone recommend one of the LISP Friendly ISPs
(http://wiki.alu.org/Lisp-friendly_Web_Hosting)
to host a demo/commercial CL-HTTP application?

I require Linux+CMUCL+CL-HTTP.

Thanks,

conrad
