Thank you, Dr. Mallery, for your reply.
I am using MCL 4.3.1, which is the latest release, except only for 4.4 which is
still in development and testing and runs Mac OS X native. I am using OS 8.6
on a PowerPC with G3 and OS 9.2 on a Powerbook G4.
What might "misconfigured" mean? I have tried loading CL-HTTP according to the
instructions on an unaltered copy of MCL 4.3.1, fresh off the distribution CD,
without loading any files of my own, and removing my "MCL Preferences" file
from the Preferences Folder. Still no luck.
settings:
Appletalk: "Printer port" on OS 8.6, "Remote only" on 9.2
TCP/IP: connect via: AppleTalk (MacIP)
configure: using macIP manually
IP Address: 127.0.0.3
implicit search path: appletalk.net
"System Folder:Preferences:Host" file contents:
Local-Host.AppleTalk.Net A 127.0.0.3
WWW.AppleTalk.Net CNAME Local-Host.AppleTalk.Net
The cl-http-70-23a folder is placed in the #p"ccl:" folder, and I tried to load
the file #p"ccl:cl-http-70-23a;mcl;start-server-appletalk.lisp"
Has anyone out there had success with CL-HTTP under 8.6 or 9.2 with MCL 4.3.1?
