tamil input via skim in kubuntu 7.04

Friends.

I have kubuntu 7.04.
I installed skim and all the tamil additional tables.

I need to input in tamil.
the skim icon appears in the task bar near the clock.

After selecting the tamil language, If I right click the skim icon, empty line 
only appears. So, I can not select the tamil language for input.

Please help me to figure out this problem.
