try the following:
make sure to have universe enabled in your software sources.
open a gnome-terminal and issue the following commands:
sudo cp /etc/apt/sources.list /opt/ltsp/i386/etc/apt/sources.list
sudo chroot /opt/ltsp/i386
apt-get update
apt-get install 915resolution
hit ct
rl-d
restore the original lts.conf and try to boot the client

I've got a similar problem.
The thin client login screen is too high for the monitor (1200x1024).
Where can I fix that, please ?

That's all the ltsp developers are focusing on these days.
I suspect once we get hal integration going, this will work.

To: ltsp-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I am getting pressure from my principal to install a Windows Terminal
Server so we can run New Zealand Ministry of Education multimedia
programs (Shockwave Director). I would much rather have everything
running on Linux. (No need for another server /higher load on current
server using VMware machine.)
I have Crossover Office installed.
At home on my Ubuntu Feisty desktop I have installed one program and
it seems to run ok.
At school on K12LTSP6 (Fedora 6) I was unsuccessful installing a
similar program.
Now assuming I can get the programs to run on the server, how
do I get
sound to the terminals? Will it automatically redirect or do I have
to
change the audio output for crossover office? I have tried using the
esd driver without success for MSPowerpoint.
Pulse Audio sounds promising. Running multimedia apps over the network
lead to subpar performance. I am hoping that pulse audio will fix this
problem. What is the position of pulse audio at present? Can I run my
Windows multimedia programs successfully on terminals using Crossover
Office and pulse audio? If so are there any tips how to do it?
As well as the K12LTSP6 server at school, I also have and edubuntu VM
that I can use for testing, if changing to Ubuntu might solve my
problems.
Thanks.

Since Edubuntu feisty has pulse support, why not just try it and see?
I've never used crossover apps with sound on a terminal, and I'll wager
not many have, so I'd say just try it and see if it works.

Hello,
I'm running an Ubuntu 7.04 with ltsp server.
The sound works on the thin clients with multimedia apps like Totem.
But Flash player apps, like videos on Youtube or the flash online game
"Dofus" don't produce any sound.
Did someone notice such problem?

flash sound for me meant installing one deb package.
http://rivervalleytechsupport.com/files/libflashsupport_1.0~2219-1_i386.debInstall it on the server NOT chroot and you should be able to go.
If you want just use dpkg to open it in a test directory so you can
see where the ONE file should go.
I did this the first time to make sure I was not changing a ton of files.
But it ends up being just one file.

Quite so. It's in the FAQ (which we must soon publicise):
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EdubuntuFAQ> If you want just use dpkg to open it in a test directory so you can

You can
do:
dpkg --contents <packagefile>

> But it ends up being just one file.
As I understand it apt and dpkg shouldn't ever overwrite files without
at least asking you first.

This does not seem to work in Feisty. I think there
is a bug report
on it as well.
Does anyone have any other ideas for
making it easy to setup and
modify Gnome users?
I know KDE has a great tool and I know Sabayon from past usage can be good.
Then there is pessulus (sorry about the spelling) but it is done per user.
Also the skel folder is nice for new users but to change all users is
what I am looking for.
