Ok, on school and English ..I was a high school dropout, self-educated in the
ways of the written word, and everything else come to think of it.
On proper ettiquete in replying to messages, I offer my humblest apologies. At
47 years of age I can still proudly say that I am a noob at some things. In
fact I think we are all noobs at one thing or another and this replying to
posts is one of mine's.;-) And at 47 I am probably considered quite ancient to
some of the younguns here, so I hope you all can be patient with my crusty old
ways.
With respect to me being a noob, it is also quite apparent how noobish I am
when it comes to Linux , and I am honestly not quite sure if this is the
appropriate forum for an absolute beginner to get some advice. But here goes
.....when I am booting from the live cd , it will only work in safe graphics
mode. I am using 64 bit Ubuntu as I am running an Amd 64 3000+ on an Asus A8V
deluxe motherboard with an ATI graphics card. Any advice would be appreciated
