Re: #ubuntu-server IRC channel: msg#00018

Subject: Re: #ubuntu-server IRC channel
I think ubuntu-server channel is essential for a good support for
ubuntu for servers. Becouse mostly people in ubuntu channel use ubuntu
like as kurumin/knoppix etc for your desktop and does not any about
servers. Use linux for change their windows...

Well, another think to have a ubuntu-server channel is a easy reply
about many questions about hardware. And this quickly answer make a
good vision of ubuntu for servers.
And many company can usu ubuntu as server becouse ubuntu have one
special channel for support to server in irc. Company that I work is a
example.

And ubuntu channel is very noisy.

So, I think is really essential a ubuntu-server channel. And I think
too that if don't have many people for ubuntu-server and there are
questions about development in ubuntu-server, that people can are in
same channel that ubuntu-server.

So in topic in ubuntu-server can have message like as "Wellcome to
Ubuntu Server and Ubuntu Server Development support." That sentence is
very very amazing.

I think this becouse mostly people use gnu/linux for server have a
good acknowledge about development, and if is not a good development
can have a opportunity to give good ideas about development. So Ubuntu
server and ubuntu server development are very very liked.

Well, and have another tip... already pasted :
> Kubuntu and Xubuntu have their support channel, I don't see why
> ubuntu-server shouldn't have.

I think this essential becouse will be help much people in server with
a ubuntu-server channel.

I for example: I migrate 50 debian servers (mostly woody and others
sarge) to ubuntu becouse one important point is the ubuntu-server
channel suport. That is very good and I hope have more and more people
(becouse this I told ubuntu-server-dev. can are same channel that
ubuntu-server) using ubuntu-server channel and writing your questions,
answer about server and dev. too.

Have a nice day all!
