problemas com locales

Olá a todos!

Fui editar um arquivo no kile e ele bagun?ou todos os caracteres
acentudados...


Daí usei "sudo dpkg-reconfigure localeconf" para que meu sistema ficasse
pt_br iso-8899-1 (e não utf)


Agora fiquei sem ? (cedilha) e no shell a acentua?ão correta não funciona!

Tem como consertar isto?
