Subject:	Beta release coming soon.... ?

I have been informed that Xubuntu Edgy - Knot 3 is still an Alpha release and that the first beta is supposed to come soon and if this is true I was wondering if it is planned to have a 2.6.17-10 kernel image out by then? ...Thanks.
