Add Remove Programs

Sorry to bother you all friends. But I wanna ask something from our experts. 
There is an Add Remove Program function in K Menu, which is used to add or 
remove new programs. But after issueing  "sudo apt-get update" command in 
Konsole not as much programs are added to its list as are in Adept Manager. So 
I have to search for programs in Adept Manager which is difficult as programs 
are not categorised as in Add Remove Programs. Is there any solution?
Secondly I want to add some more repositries to my SOURCES.LIST file which 
contain some more good programs. Can anyone help me please.
