Hi Mike
How do you plan to get ubuntu installed? If you are getting assistance,
thats great!

to install orca, you can either enable the universe repository for
Ubuntu and install the gnome-orca package. However, that package is
somewhat out of date. Below is a step by step guide to getting a newer
version of orca installed:

1. Add the following line to the /etc/apt/sources.list file:
deb http://www.themuso.com/ubuntu/accessibility dapper universe

You will need to add this line to that file with an editor of some sort.
make sure you run the editor with the sudo command. When prompted for a
password, just enter the password you set for your user account.

2. Run the command sudo apt-get update
You should not get a password prompt.
2. Run the command: sudo apt-get install gnome-orca
When you are asked whether you want to continue, press Y and then press
enter.
Once it is installed, it is just a matter of running orca -g from within
GNOME. You only use the -g option for the first time you run orca.
Afterwards, just use orca on its own.

Note that everything above, except the running of orca itself needs to
be done in a terminal or on the console.

Hope this helps.
