Sure, but if you leave it where it is now, only the Art Team will see
it. People who actually choose which wallpapers will actually be
included (and which one is the defautl one) sometimes check
art.ubuntu.com to see what's new. So I still your wallpaper would best
be placed there :)
This does again illustrate the issues with uploading stuff to that art
system. A wiki-based solution might be worth considering ...
Anyway, I'll talk to the Desktop Team about this.
As it happens I'm the person who selects artwork for the example-content
package [1] which will be included on the CD. And I've already decided
that this should be selected :) Ville, I just need you to say
explicitly that you will release it explicitly under a Free License,
such as the CC-BY-SA [2].
Now, I just had an interesting idea :) I also need to select a short
video for the CD. Since this image is done in Blender it should be
possible to do a shot animation with the existing components right? (I
have some ideas for sequences, but we can get to that). What do you think?
