Re: daper drake - woo hoo!: msg#00110

Subject: Re: daper drake - woo hoo!

Thank goodness we finally sorted out the ducks from the dragons! I'd love to see some submissions, less aimless discussion (there, I said it). However, I might have to wait until nearer the weekend for work to slow down so I can put aside quality time to draw/create/etc/

A dragon and a duck! Of course, in real fantasy the duck wouldn't last long hanging out with a dragon.

BTW, male ducks (or male anything) aren't "cute." They're handsome, suave, studly. Maybe (just maybe) they can be chic. Additionally, "dapper" does kind of imply masculine. I've never heard it used as a description of a woman, only men, and only then when in formal attire.

So a chic duck and a studly dragon. Who wants to do the first comp?
I sent a quick message to Mark Shuttleworth, here's what he said:

So start thinking about ducks. Chic, suave, studly ducks decked out in their finest threads. I have to admit I like a dapper duck much better than a breezy badger (breezy is a synonym of flatulent where I'm from).

Actually, I'm really excited about this release, and not because of art. I manage servers and software and the reason I switched to Ubuntu is because it had a longer support cycle than RH/Fedora. I'll probably be using Drake for the next 4-5 years.
