When you did 'YOU update' you updated the kernel.
You should of logged into as root dropped down to 'init 3'
rerun the NVIDIA driver
then sax2 -m 0=nvidia
then go back to init 5.

But he is right: The Website is very confusing!
If you go to the main site:
http://www.s-a-d.de/sad/details_produkt.php?prodID=321
You can find the description:
Systemvoraussetzungen:
Microsoft Windows® 98, 2000 und XP,
Mac OS X ,
Linux
EAN: 4017404010197
ISBN: 3937215409
There are two other screensavers mentioned on this site: "Arktis" and
"Wale".
Regards,
Michael

perhaps it's time to yelp at the KDE developers who do make or at least seem
to collect screensavers. I suspect they get relatively little attention
because no one seems to care enough to have lots of email complaints fill
their inboxes...

Re: KDE not Starting
Well, thanks for all the help. I tried the things suggested, but none of them
seemed to get me any further. So, I decided to scratch the installation and
try again. It isn't as bad ass it sounds, I just built the thing a couple of
weeks ago, so I didn't have time to do any sigificant amount of work on it.
The up side is that I learned to be very careful about kernel and video driver
updates in the future.
Thanks again for all the helpful suggestions. Hope y'all had a Merry
Christmas and have a happy New Year.

Re: KDE not Starting
I don't find this file in either my directory or in root's home folder.
Please note that it isn't even getting to the point of displaying the KDE
login screen, so I'm not sure I understand how a file in my home directory
would affect it anyway. That's why I decided to look in the root folder.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks.
