Weird adsl/masq problem

Hey,
I use a server (2.2.20, two ethernet cards, adsl alcatel modem, ipchains)
to masq to a home network of 3 computers.
everything worked just fine, but lately i'v been having these weird
connection problems on my masq'ed machines, both win2000, on the server
everything works just fine, but on the masqed machine i only get partial
connections to several ips, for example i can connect to my pop mail
server, but it stucks downloading the first mail, my icq works, but i cant
establish a connection with almost any website.

both eth's are set to mtu 1500, the netmasks are ok, everything worked
fine for a year now, and i dont recall changing my firewall or any conf
files.

sometimes when i reboot it starts working again, sometimes not.

any ideas?
