Subject: this monday's "strace and the linux application" lecture

The slides for this monday's Haifux 'strace and the anatomy of a C
application' are ready, and will be available from haifux's web site soon.
lecture takes place, as usual, at 18:30, in the Taub computer science
building, room 6, at the technion, haifa.

until orr places the slides there, you can download the 'compressed, 800kb
file) from
http://users.actcom.co.il/~choo/strace-and-the-linux-application.tar.gz .

the lecture will concentrate on showing how an 'strace' output looks for
properly working applications of various types (stand-alone, network
clients, network servers/daemons, scripts) and how to skim the important
details from the (sometimes very large) output strace shows.

some _very_ basic understanding of C is assumed - the system calls
themselves will be shortly explained during the lecture.

see y'all there,
