Re: xorg.conf issues

In my test environment (vmware), the display will only do 800x600. If I edit the xorg.conf to include a Modes "1280x1024" line it gets ignored. If I run system-config-display, it won't give me the option to select a resolution higher than 800x600. The system probably thinks the detected display isn't capable of more than 800x600. Set the display type to something generic like '1280x1024 lcd' and 1280x1024 should be available. I tried setting it to a generic LCD 1280x1024 and got nowhere. Still plugging away at it. Hugh This looks like a VMware problem because I run RHEL5 under parallels on my Mac and I can set the monitor to generic LCD 1280X1024. It works as expected.

Gunther Schlegel wrote: i was wondering if someone knows when RedHat will make the new xen-3.1 community release available ? given the typical redhat approach: it will be in RHEL 6 and it will never be in RHEL 5 unless they are forced to step up from Xen 3.0 by some serious issue (this implies they cannot backport needed patches to Xen 3.0). Not saying anything one way or another, but note that up until the last minute, xen 3.1 was still called xen 3.0.5... -- Jarod Wilson jwilson-H+wXaHxf7aLQT0dZR+AlfA@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
