You mentioned that you had changed the JRE but didn't say what you 
changed it to. When 7.1 was released a LOT of users had this same 
problem and replacing the JRE fixed it for all of them.
The other alternative is to try FDS 1.0.2 which uses a different web 
server so this problem goes away entirely.
