Re: epson 740 printing background horizontal lines/scratces SuSE 9.1: msg#00110linux.printing.gimp-print.devel
From: Jim Quigley <jimquigley9@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 28 Jul 2004 20:24:28 +0100 Has anyone seen this problem? Here is my post to Suse forum so far but have'nt got answer so far. I am still experiencing this problem. I am using SuSE 9.1 and the epson color 740 is printing unwanted horizontal line throughout the page. I don't think it is a printer problem since I did not get this in SuSE 9.0. I have upgraded the cups driver 'cups-1.1.20-103', 'cups-drivers-1.1.20-66.1' and the latest gimp-print ' gimp-print-5.0.0-alpha2-1'. I selected the PPD file in Yast as Foomatic/gimp-print for the epson 740. The printer prints ok but these horizontal lines appear throughout the page. I have been searching the web but can't get answer. Anybody got the same Are the unwanted lines white (ink is missing) or extra ink? -- Robert Krawitz <rlk@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Tall Clubs International -- http://www.tall.org/ or 1-888-IM-TALL-2 Member of the League for Programming Freedom -- mail lpf@xxxxxxxxxxxx Project lead for Gimp Print -- http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net "Linux doesn't dictate how I work, I dictate how Linux works." --Eric Crampton ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by OSTG.
