Subject: ijs gs drivers in tiny 50M Puppy Linux distro

Hi guys,
I thought that you would be interested to know about this.

My tiny Puppy Linux distro is just 49M, and is a live-CD, also easily
installs to USB pen drive, Zip drive or hard drive.

Puppy has a full suite of GUI apps, including heavyweights such as
Mozilla 1.7. Puppy has PDQ and AFPL Ghostscript 8.11, and I was wondering
how to incorporate support for many printers. There is only GTK 1.2,
Xaw95, Tcl/Tk, no Perl.

Above all, the solution had to be compact. So, I installed the Gimp-Print
IJS GS drivers, no CUPS, no Foomatic, no Stp. Version 4.2.7pre1.

Then, I wrote my own shell script, called the Puppy Printer Wizard, so
users can choose and configure a printer.

Works like a charm. Does need some refinement though.
