Subject: Re: Newbie: USB IR dongle problem

Steve,

Thanks for getting back, it is very kind of you to
offer to help.

I would email you the .config file, but I must confess
that I have switched to Ed's Debian distro, and the IR
dongle drivers appear to be working fine!

One bit of feedback for the IR drivers - it would be
nice if the default mapping used keys from the
standard 101 key keyboard. I had trouble getting
applications to respond to the more esoteric keys like
'HELP'. I know that you have created a tool to
re-generate the mapping file, but it is a little bit
tricky to use as in Ed's distro you have to create a
new initrd to pick up the new mappings. What do you
think?

Regards,

Paul
