I can ensure you that 1.1 XBox (with Evolution 3.6) does NOT boot Linux.
A 1.1 XBox with Evolution 2.6 may boot, but not 1.1

The news that EvoX people are looking at that, are very promising though
;)
So, the only thing to do is wait!
