AFAIK, the initrd is needed AFTER the booting process.
In an normal linux box, first boots nicely and then, if not any initrd
exists (where it should), the kernel complains about it.
initrd is only a "ramdisk", nothing more, nothing less (and, anyway I
didn't find any XBox specific ramdisk).

Actually it looks like a more serious problem, since it doesn't boot at
all the (well packaged) debian distribution.
