Have others had better luck with with their cdrs?  Milosch's burned copies of 
mandrakes worked whiles yours did not?  What are the models of your cdrw's?  
Perhaps pressed cds will be offered/sold for initial install?  How many 
different kinds of dvd-roms are there running about in the two versions of the 
xbox?  Freevo seems to be a very cool project; I have it running on my desktop 
in windowed mode.  Very nice to look at, select music and videos and they just 
recently added support for mame. 

On the fullscreen issue I belive the -zoom option to mplayer (which freevo does 
use) will scale the video without hardware accel.  That is if the cpu is fast 
enough.  I have no idea about wether the xbox is fast "enough" for this, but I 
hope.
And thanks for the explaination on tv-out it seems everything I have ever read 
about the subject always made it seem as if it was nearly impossible to get 
decent flicker free output to a tv.
