There is another disc made by complex or somebody like that which is a
"safe" version of the xdk restore disc, I say safe cause it won't touch
the eeprom, just replace alot of files on C:
Of course installing any more microsoft software on your xbox is just
plain wrong, and you will burn in hell for going past the "necessary
evil" stage. ^_^

kind of leaked disc used by MS internally to convert a retail machine
to

debug machine or somesuch (I didn't follow this news too closely as it
is not
so interesting to me). You are unlikely to meet it in the wild by
accident.

Actually, this recovery disc is used for the debug kits only. What it
does is it updates the debug kit to the latest debug kit software and
ROM. Also, it will turn a debug kit into a retail machine, making
64MB
of the 128MB unusable in this state. It then can be re-inserted to
convert the machine back to debug. That is the only real purpose of
it.
