Subject: check kernel for support for the aes-cbc-essiv:sha256 cipher - msg#00032
List: linux.ports.mactel.user
Hi,
today I tried to install 2.6.19 + mactel patches once again.
At this time I'm using Debian etch 2.6.18.5 + mactel patches, which except the
touchpad works fine.
After I built and installed 2.6.19 I rebooted my system and got following
error message after typing in the LUKS password for my root partition:
- 8< - 8< - 8< - 8< - 8<
check kernel for support for the aes-cbc-essiv:sha256 cipher spec and verify
that /dev/mapper/sda4_crypt contains at least 258 sectors.
failed to read from key storage
- 8< - 8< - 8< - 8< - 8<
For me it looks like a broken aes module.
If you need further information dont hesitate to ask.
Regards,

Installing XP last (in a triple boot setup)
Hey guys the EFI firmware update 1.1 fried my OSX so I'm in the middle of re-installing my triple boot setup. This time however, I decided to install linux after osx, instead of windows XP. So currently it's looking like this (in the XP installer)
C: Partition 1 (i.e. disk0s1) EFI boot partitionE: Partition 2 (i.e. disk0s2) OSXF: Partition 3 (i.e. disk0s3) LinuxUnpartitioned spaceTo be clear, I have left the last 16G of the harddrive as unpartitioned space to put my XP on it, but when I selected it to do so, I am greeted by and error message saying: "Setup cannot create a new partition in the space you selected because the maximum number of partitions already exists on the disk."
Any ideas/workarounds? I need XP for my job.gavin-- http://vk6hgr.echidna.id.au/~gavin8or/Gavin Rogers, full time problem solver.
