on a non-mac FC5 system using the "badaxe" intel 975dx chipset, but which requires the snd_hda_intel module, i occasionally have a similar problem when using AC3 passthrough. all audio channels -> static/crackling. loading the snd_hds_intel module with option "position_fix=1" seems to have made the problem occur less frequently, but it has happened at least once since i added the option. it might be worth a try. also, modprobe -r snd_hda_intel ; modprobe snd_hda_intel seems to be enough to fix the problem when it does occur. rob On Aug 28, 2006, at 3:36 PM, mactel-linux-users- request@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: > Same problem here...
