No CDROM, 2.6.17 on a mac mini: msg#00082

Subject: No CDROM, 2.6.17 on a mac mini

Hello!

I’ve just upgraded my kernel from 2.6.16 to 2.6.17.8 based on the latest patches, and really like the improvements especially for audio.

Everything is wording a treat, except my CDROM doesn’t exist any more. Does anyone know why this may be?

If I boot in with the old kernel, it still works a treat and appears as /dev/scd0 but in 2.6.17 there is nothing! I’m pretty sure my kernel compiled as expected, and I can’t quite understand it! There are also no entries under proc/scsi for the CD drive, which is a bit weird!

Any help appreciated.. I’m running a duo mac mini with the superdrive..

Thanks in advance

Martin
