Maybe you forgot the line:
  DefaultFbBpp      32
in the "Screen" section of /etc/X11/xorg as explained in
http://wiki.debian.org/MacMiniIntel

Without this line the display is correct in console (text mode) but
"scrambled" in X11.

I also have a Macbook Pro and applied all the patches.
