boot camp and/or new firmware?: msg#00018linux.ports.mactel.user
Hello, In many documentations I read that Boot Camp is needed to boot from BIOS. One good example is "2D/3D Acceleration works with BootCamp and the latest ATI Drivers" on the main page of the Wiki [1]. I think the sentence is incorrect since Boot Camp is not needed at all. Only the firmware upgrade to version 1.0.1 to allow a BIOS boot is needed. Boot Camp is just a nice tool to repartition the hard disk and burn a CD with Windows drivers. You do not need to install or use Boot Camp to use the ATI proprietary driver or the VESA modes. Do you agree?
