Subject: Re: Problem while Installing Opie 4.3 0.8.4 stable release on SD - msg#00027
List: linux.ports.h2200
Hi Adrien
I know that problem - reinstall Opie or delete file like /etc/ts... (I
don't remember the name) in current install. After that You should see
the "welcome" procedure againg - follow it patiently and slowly - I
don't remember what was the best button to press - either "OK" (top
right corner) or "Next" (bottom right corner). This should help.
Let me know if it worked or not.
Good luck
Michal

Re: Problem while Installing Opie 4.3 0.8.4 stable release on SD Cards
Hello Adrien,
I've installed Opie on my 2210 following your link and I've not got those
problems of yours. But I see those problems when using the newest kernel.
Than after boot, touch screen is not working but starts to work after I
switching Opie off and on again.
First of all a few questions:
Have you downloaded the following image?
http://handhelds.org/familiar/releases/v0.8.4/install/dlget.php?rel=v0.8.4&ipaq=h2200&boot=opie
Are you using the kernel from that image?
Are you able to connect via serial cable to your Linux/Windows box to log into
the system after boot?
Are you booting from SF- or SD-Card with Haret?
(and not to forget) is your touchscreen working under WinCE?

It's nice to hear that:)

I don't know - try looking in wiki or in mailing list archive (at
gmane.org ....)

Yes - You need to push the hardware button. That is one of few things
left that don't work.
You will probably experience more problems with Opie on h2200
(inaccurate touchscreen, some buttons not working, joystick not
working properly) - either be patience - next familiar release is
planed soon, or tyr Angstrom distribution
(http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/ ;
http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/images/ - soon there
should be Opie images there ... ) or try some packages upgrade (is.
see http://mpanczyk.googlepages.com/ipaqstuff - it might not work....
).
In future -please, when You respond please also include h2200 mailing
list in recipients field - that helps sharing info with more people...
