Subject: Re: No suspend

Hi Silvério

Please excuse me cc'ing this to the list, but it contains
information I'd prefer not to repeat (again:).
http://www.handhelds.org/hypermail/h2200-port/0/0000.html

Searching archives:

google is your friend :)

Dev.static:
===========
I don't think the dev static issue is related.
google for it and you will see (esp. Debian related, from memory)

Logs:
=====
logs are written to circular buffers in tmpfs, read them with:
# logread
follow a log with
# logread -f

Instability:
============
Try creating a new user, and see if the problems persist while
logged in as that user.

Further questions?
==================
Give more detail.
eg.
# df
# cat /proc/mounts
# cat /etc/fstab
# uname -a
... and so on ...

Marcus.

Luckily, I've not had to reset my ipaq it's been a long time. Love linux.

Unfortunately I frequently have to reboot my iPaq (0.8.4-RC3, GPE) because I cannot suspend it any more, especially when it has been suspended some hours.
I've found a possible cause or only a symptom: my session log gets filled with loads of "df: /dev/.static/dev: Permission denied". Running fuser and lsof yielded no causing program.

Another symptom is that "System Information" crashes / cannot be started any more.

BTW, can someone tell me what file contains the log files, especially what GPE calls the session log.

The reason why I sent this message is because I found a single and unanswered post about /dev.static/dev. A hint what exact message you mean would help a lot.

I did that before sending the message, but forgot to tell
