Opie and the keypad

Hi there.
Could anybody that is using Opie tell me if the keypad work on games
and other applications (for example to scroll the pages of a text)? It
seems "numlock" is turned on, so each direction on the keypad is
printed as a number and does not act as a direction.
I would like to turn this "numlock" off. Does anyone knows how to do it?
