RE: OpenZaurus on H2200 Series: msg#00081linux.ports.h2200
So then what is the preferred environment for Linux on H2200. It sounds like there are several: Familiar, GPE, OpenZaurus and some others I've heard of. Do I have this wrong or are these actual environments. If they are which is the preferred. -----Original Message----- From: Marcos "Japa" Umino [mailto:thejapa-Re5JQEeQqe8AvxtiuMwx3w@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, August 17, 2006 11:19 PM To: David Eugene Waybright Cc: h2200-port-CN5wO63fgwogsBAKwltoeQ@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [H2200-port] OpenZaurus on H2200 Series On 8/17/06, David Eugene Waybright <david-pJoaAYRQS/cAvxtiuMwx3w@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > I would like to know where I can find the instructions for loading > OpenZaurus on my device. I've seen a Sharp Zaurus and like the software. The Sharp Zaurus and the Open Zaurus have in common the Zaurus name only. They're quite different internally. OpenZaurus is built using monotone and bitbake, Sharp Zaurus, afaik is not. Familiar uses a similar mechanism to generate images. It uses monotone and bitbake, but using different montone/bitbake versions and recipes. Also a lot of important arch decisions make openzaurus and familiar different internally. You won't find an official release for OpenZaurus for h2200, but as reported earlier, someone had success building an image of openzaurus for h2200. HtH Japa |
