Subject: microdrives, anyone? - msg#00008
List: linux.ports.h2200
do you think this would work as a storage device?
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BO0SGG/
ref=pd_ecc_rvi_6/104-8069194-8795166?%5Fencoding=UTF8
for those of you not wanting to click the link, it's an 8 gig
microdrive that is meant to sit in the cf slot
it's listed as a photo storage device, but i wonder if you could set
it up to be used for any other things, like say, music?

RE: Newbie with CF problems
Hmm, can you give us some details of how you are setup, and
also what are the contents of the files in the haret startup.txt file under
CE?

Hello, I’m a newbie trying to run
gpe or opie on my Ipaq 2215, I’ve followed the instructions (formatting the CF

no Linux on my ipaq. I don’t know where the problem is, I’ve tried Wrap haret
unsuccessful. Haret still saying that is impossible to loaf
linux.
Please help me to run linux on my
ipaq, let mw know precise instructions to run it.
Thanks in
advance.
Regards,
Israel.

2.6.15 in familiar 0.8.3?

Hi,
The current familiar RCs and OE metadata ship 2.6.13-hh1 for h2200 and
hx4700, but I noticed some improvements in 2.6.15 that might be worth
upgrading:
* removal of copy page locks
* usb gadget fixes for pxa270
* h2200 battery monitor improvements
* hx4700 navpoint patch
Do you think it's wise to ship 2.6.15 and spend the next 3 weeks testing
it, or ship 2.6.13 and provide an update to 2.6.15 soon after the release?
regards,
Koen

I just wanted to second this question in hopes that someone will reply with an
answer.
I too would like to run Familiar as my sole operating system on my h2215, I
used to have an h3650 and I loved the way I could just turn it on and boot
straight into familiar. Unfortunately when I dropped my bag off the back of my
motorcycle some months ago, the h3650 met the business end of a dump truck.
Thus I upgraded to the h2215.
I have read on the wiki that you can load something called LAB (Linux as
bootloader), but I could not find any futher information about this process
anywhere. If someone could provide a link to more information about LAB and/or
the process of installing it, we would be forever grateful.
Thanks,
David
