The link to the deb from the Debian Repository link seems to be not present:

The requested URL
/debian/pool/main/gpsdrive/gpsdrive_2.10svn1315_i386.deb was not found
on this server.

I added your gpg keys and sources.list to my apt, and temporarily
commented out my Unstable/Sid sources. After apt-get update I tried to
install, but i get this error:

root@std:~# apt-get install gpsdrive
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
gpsdrive: Depends: libxml-simple-perl but it is not installable
Depends: libfile-slurp-perl but it is not installable
Depends: libxml-twig-perl but it is not installable
Depends: libwww-mechanize-perl but it is not installable
Depends: libtext-query-perl but it is not installable
Depends: libxml-simple-perl but it is not installable
Depends: perlmagick but it is not installable
E: Broken packages

Renabling my Unstable/Sid sources, I see that I can install (so far)
the first package, so I am doing that at least. I'm at work, ssh into
my laptop at home, so I won't be able to run it.

I haven't tried compiling from source, but I imagine that it will want
to see the same packages/libraries present as the apt-get.

I'm also cautious of pushing it too far, mixing Etch and Sid, but I'll
see how it goes. I do not have an uptodate backup image. Should I file
this under the bugzilla link. or is this adequate here?

thx
