Are you sure theres a gtk_resize_window event, all I have been able to find is
gtk_expose_event and indications are that this is the correct way to redisplay
the window after being resized/maximised etc.

I've had this worked out for a while just need to convert the geometry string
to appropriate width and height and all should be ok. Have been working on it
today, looks like may need to include one of the Xorg libraries to do it as in
X.
