Alright, I did something contrary to the whole concept of "wikis", but
the spam bots are ridiculous. I would argue that some of the users and
edits were actually done by a human, which means there's no easy way to
get rid of the problem...
...except...
to lock the logins so only existing users can create new accounts.
So for now, it's locked up tighter'n a bull's a** in spring, as it were.
Hamish, you have sysop privileges. You can create accounts by going to
the "Special Pages" link in the "Toolbox" on the left-hand side of the
wiki layout, and clicked "Create Account or Log In." Enter in the new
user's login and email, and click "By email." This will send them the
login information and a random password.
If you want to promote a normal user to be sysop, click "Make a user
into a sysop" near the bottom of the Special Pages page.
