Here's what I would like:
o Seamless map tiling (via gpsd as someone else has hinted?)
o Postgres back end/plugin (I already use Postgres for a couple of other
packages)
o The ability to read NOAA vector charts (Free download from their web
site, more are becoming available every day, see
http://chartmaker.ncd.noaa.gov/mcd/enc/index.htm )
