About: aurora framework is a slim modular MVC framework written in PHP
5.2+ for rapid development of Web or console applications featuring an
integrated database API, template logic, pretty URLs,
internationalization, caching, data models, and a multi-layered file tree.

Changes: This release fixes the name of the auth-cookie, an escaping
problem with js_translation_strings, and cross-browser support in the

[005] - BurgerSpace 1.8.2
by Pierre Sarrazin (http://freshmeat.net/users/sarrazip/)
Sat, Dec 22nd 2007 16:41

Games/Entertainment :: Arcade

About: BurgerSpace is a game in which you are a chef, and must walk over
hamburger ingredients (buns, meat, and lettuce) to make them fall from
floor to floor, until they end up on the plates at the bottom of the
screen. It requires the SDL multimedia library. It is a clone of the 1982
BurgerTime video game by Bally Midway.

Changes: Games can now be saved and loaded. (This code is experimental.)
Also, it should now be slightly easier to turn corners (compared with an
unpatched 1.8.1 version).

[006] - Burp proxy 1.4
by PortSwigger (http://freshmeat.net/users/PortSwigger/)
Sat, Dec 22nd 2007 00:11

Internet :: Proxy Servers
Security
Software Development :: Testing

About: Burp proxy is an interactive HTTP/S proxy server for attacking
Web-enabled applications. It operates as a man-in-the-middle between the
end browser and the target Web server, and allows the attacker to
intercept, inspect, and modify the raw traffic passing in both directions.
Text and hex editing may be performed on intercepted traffic. Downstream
proxies are supported. Authentication may be done to downstream proxy and
Web servers, using basic, NTLM, or digest authentication types.

Changes: This release is geared towards usability enhancements and new
features: better analysis and rendering of HTTP requests and responses,
support for custom client and server SSL certificates, new interception
and match/replace rules, and more. It is fully integrated with the other
new Burp Suite tools.

Internet :: Proxy Servers
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: HTTP Servers

About: Das Schaefchen is a lightweight HTTP server and proxy for Unix
platforms. It supports the minimum requirements of the HTTP/1.1 protocol
and virtual hosts, basic authentication (which can be used to protect
either files or directories), directory listing, byte ranges, and reverse
proxy. It is an event-driven server that runs as a single process with a
single thread using non-blocking I/O. It uses epoll as the event
notification mechanism to multiplex control between active connections.

Changes: This release allows you to specify the configuration and the MIME
filenames.

and doesn't require any kind of installation on the client computer.

Changes: This is a minor update release, targeted to the release of
FCKeditor.Net 2.5. It impacts mainly ASP.NET developers. Changes to the
code are minimal, to make it safe to upgrade from FCKeditor 2.5. The only

comments. It provides utilities such as "flickcurl" to exercise the API
and "flickrdf" to get RDF metadata descriptions out of photos, tags, and
machine tags.

Changes: Calls and data structures were added for supporting asynchronous
upload tickets, categories of groups, interestingness, rotating photos,

[013] - genders 1.8-1
by Albert Chu (http://freshmeat.net/users/chu11/)
Sat, Dec 22nd 2007 16:00

System :: Clustering/Distributed Networks
System :: Systems Administration

About: Genders is a static cluster configuration database used for cluster
configuration management. It is used by a variety of tools and scripts for
management of large clusters. The genders database is accessed by every
node in a cluster, either through a networked file system or by
replicating the database on every node of the cluster. The database
describes the layout and configuration of the cluster so that tools and
scripts can sense the variations of cluster nodes. By abstracting this
information into a plain text file, it becomes possible to change the
configuration of a cluster by modifying only one file.

Changes: An empty genders file is supported as a degenerate case.

import, export, search, display, and other plugins is easy to do.

Changes: New %{tags:}, %{attributes:}, and %{ratings:} tags were added,
which can be used in the modify/rewrite and display/list plugins. Cache
descriptions can now be put in Google Earth files. A number of bugs were

JavaScript or jlayer in applet. Lyric displaying, fading, wiping and
ken-burns transition are available in the slideshow applet.

Changes: A JavaScript bug with MP3/photo synchronization in the IE browser
was fixed. Lyric parsing now supports the [00:00] or [00] timestamp format.

Sat, Dec 22nd 2007 16:25

Software Development :: Libraries :: Application Frameworks
Software Development :: Libraries :: Perl Modules
System :: Networking

About: Libev is a high-performance event loop for C (with optional and
separate interfaces for C++ and Perl), featuring support for I/O, timers
(relative and absolute, cron-like ones), signals, process status changes,
and other types of events. It has both a fast native API and libevent
emulation to support programs written using the libevent API. The libev
distribution consists of libevent with the core event handling parts
replaced by the libev embedded event loop. Differences to libevent include
higher speed, simpler design, more features, less memory usage,
embedability, and no arbitrary limits. libev supports epoll, kqueue,
Solaris event ports, poll, and select.

Changes: Embed watchers are now functional as documented. A memleak in
ev_loop_destroy has been fixed. Epoll has been removed from the embeddable
backends set. Export symbol lists that might help embedders have been
added. The documentation has been improved greatly to include more
portability hints and background information. Functions for finer control
over the event loop block and waiting time have been added. A great number
of minor portability and compile issues have been fixed.

allow a very agile development style to remain highly productive (thus
enjoyable) in later phases of development and maintenance.

Changes: Some bugs were fixed in the FilterFormPart (used by SearchPages),
which resulted from cross site scripting prevention.

Sat, Dec 22nd 2007 00:04

Database :: Database Engines/Servers
Software Development :: Libraries

About: Tokyo Cabinet is a library of routines for managing a database. It
is the successor of QDBM. Tokyo Cabinet runs very fast. For example, the
time required to store 1 million records is 1.5 seconds for a hash
database and 2.2 seconds for a B+ tree database. Moreover, the database
size is very small. For example, the overhead for a record is 16 bytes for
a hash database, and 5 bytes for a B+ tree database. Furthermore, the
scalability of Tokyo Cabinet is great. The database size can be up to 8EB.

Changes: Concurrency was improved by using pread and pwrite. A memory leak
was fixed.

About: Ultimate++ is a cross-platform C++ rapid application development

integrated development environment. Rapid development is achieved by smart
and aggressive use of C++ rather than through fancy code generators. In
this respect, U++ competes with popular scripting languages while
preserving C/C++ runtime characteristics. Its integrated development
environment, TheIDE, introduces modular conception to C++ programming, and
can be used to develop non-U++ applications.

About: wview is an application that controls a supported weather station
to retrieve archive records and current conditions. Archive records may
optionally be stored in a relational database (MySQL or PostgreSQL). At a

based on configurable HTML templates. It supports serial and USB data
loggers, as well as connectivity with a terminal server or serial server
via TCP sockets.

Changes: The make target "install-env" was fixed so that the html template
directory is properly created. The new include templates were updated to
support "plus" pages more completely. The WXT510 station interface was
