You can use only a few objects and classes in a program, or you can write programs entirely in ctalk. The package provides a translator from ctalk source code into C for compilation and a library that provides run-time support for class objects. The preprocessor, ctpp, is also available separately, and the package includes sample programs and documentation. Changes: This release provides improved critical error handling, additional methods in the Array and Time classes, and several bugfixes. It is different from wdiff in that it allows the user to specify what should be considered whitespace, and in that it takes an optional list of characters that should be considered delimiters. Delimiters are single characters that are treated as if they are words, even when there is no whitespace separating them from preceding words or delimiters. dwdiff is mostly commandline compatible with wdiff. The default output from dwdiff is the new text, with the deleted and inserted parts annotated with markers. Command line options are available to change both what is printed and the markers. Changes: A new option was added for showing the line numbers from the old and the new file along with an option that shows several lines of context around changes but skips large common blocks of text. It helps users maintain a database of objects and allows policy editing using simple drag-and-drop operations. The GUI and policy compilers are completely independent, which provides for a consistent abstract model and the same GUI for different firewall platforms. It currently supports iptables, ipfilter, ipfw, OpenBSD pf, Cisco PIX and FWSM, and Cisco routers access lists. Changes: A bug introduced in 2.1.15 that broke the generated firewall script for iptables if the option "use iptables-restore" was on is fixed in this release. Additional checks were added to the generated script for iptables to improve error detection and make sure the GUI properly detects when it terminates with an error. Support for load balancing with PF was also added. Changes: The fileserver host tracking code had a missing lock on a host structure; that lock has been added. Fileserver handling for clients that are giving up callbacks did not hold a lock, making it unsafe and allowing clients to potentially crash the server by racing. The fileserver now leaves a core file when it is doing a shutdown due to error conditions. The fileserver again allows UFS as a valid filesystem type (regression in 1.4.5). The cbd handler for fileserver status data had an interpretation error that could cause crashes. The fileserver accurately tracks the number of callbacks on a given file.
