I get "dd: writing to `file': Operation not supported" (on the upside, the times are really good now) It also happens on a file that was created in Windows (which is not marked as sparse) Debian stock kernel 2.6.16-17 NTFS kernel driver 2.1.26 [R/W] dmesg explains (for both inodes): ntfs_attr_extend_allocation(): Not enough space in the mft record for the extended attribute record.
