Re: How to Mount Windows Partitions?: msg#00005linux.file-systems.ntfs.devel
Hi, amol suroshe schrieb: > > I'm running Fedora5 on my machine and so should i be able to access > ntfs from linux Nope, it's the other way round: you are running Fedora and that is why you cannot (currently) access ntfs from linux. While many linux-distros support ntfs out of the box, Fedora does not ;-) > i have created a directory /win > > mount -t ntfs /dev/hda1 /win > mount: unknown filesystem type 'ntfs' The problem is that you need a driver that makes your linux understand ntfs. You can download such a driver from our website, start reading here: http://www.linux-ntfs.org/content/view/120/59/ In short, download the right rpm for your kernel, install it, modprobe it and you should be all set. Take also a look at http://wiki.linux-ntfs.org/doku.php?id=driver to get some info on the kernel driver you are installing. Cheers, Mario Using Tomcat but need to do more?
