Subject: re: [BUG] CIFS won't link)

You are right that cifs didn't call end_page_writeback(page) - wonder if this
was the cause
of a rare corruption seen in writepages of very large files to Windows servers
which was
difficult to track down.

Well I can compile it OK and link now so that's better.

No, as far as I'm concerned, compiling and linking is actually _worse_ if
the end result then causes horrible problems.

Which is why I'll leave it in the non-compiling stage in the standard
kernel until I actually get somebody reporting whether the end result
actually works or not (or an ACK from a CIFS person).

I don't know really how to test but I'll tell you if CIFS interferes
with my daschund.

Remember to send pictures.

I am looking at the patch now, and it makes sense - but may also want to run it by Shaggy who probably wrote this section of
cifs_writepages originally.

Can anyone
