problems with graphire4 buttons

Hi,

there seem to be 2 solutions to get the buttons working.

First is a little program called gr4_buttons that works for me with the
scrollwheel but segfaults when i push a button.

Second is following the guide in the gentoo-wiki but that does not work
at all for me, i get no response from any of the buttons.

If somebody is using the graphire4 buttons successfully i would
appreciate a look his/her xorg.conf
